Reporting an Outage

Hearst Power Distribution Company strives to ensure that your power stays on at all times. Storms, interference from trees and animals, vehicle accidents, equipment failure and a loss of supply from Hydro One are some of the realities affecting our power system that we try to protect against. When outages do occur, rest assured our crews work hard to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible.

To report a power outage and/or for information on current outages, please call 705-372-2815 during business hours (9:00 to 16:30), or 705-372-2846 after hours and weekends.

In the event of a widespread outage, please be patient and listen to the local radio station for updates.

Quick Tips

  • If your home is without power, check and see if your neighbors have electricity. If your house is the only one without power, check your electrical panel. The breakers should be in the “on” position.
  • Look outside to see if the electrical equipment to your home is damaged or if the service wire is down. If so, stay away and immediately contact Hearst Power Distribution Company.
